'Democritus Junior' = Robert Burton. First published in 1621 (q.v.). The eighth edition had appeared in 1676. With a small woodcut portrait of the author in vol. I p. [xv] and wood-engraved tail-pieces. The final leaf of vol. II lists 18 'Elegant Publications' printed for and sold by 'The Proprietors'. ESTC t109284.
