Parallel text in French and English on facing pages. Bagster issued a 'Liturgia Polyglotta' intended to be interleaved as a pocket edition along similar lines to his 'Polyglott Bible' (1816). The present copy of the Book of Common Prayer in English is interleaved with the text in French. The verso of p. 143 of the French text is blank, with the English text containing the 'Forms Of Prayer To Be Used At Sea.', etc. beginning on the facing recto as p. 144, and pagination continuing in sequence to p. 168 (recto; verso blank).

Copy Notes This may be the copy of '[Prayer Book ... French & English] 12mo Blue Mor:' bought from T. & W. Boone for 17s. 6d. on 9 October 1827. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.6.12).

Binding C19th blue straight-grained morocco, blind-panelled borders and corner-pieces, blind-tooled and gilt-lettered spine, gilt edges.
