Printer's statement from verso of title-page. Portrait of Sykes engraved by Robert Grave after a model in wax executed in 1817 by Peter Rouw. The final page advertises the second portion of the sale, which was held between 28 May and 9 June 1824 (q.v.); the third portion was held 21--28 June 1824 (q.v.). In all some 3700 lots were sold for almost £18000; the works of art disposed at Christie's sale on 14--15 May 1824 (q.v.) fetched nearly £6000 (ODNB).
Copy Notes Unopened and unannotated. Pink paper spine retained. Bound (1) in a collection of sale catalogues together with copies of the second and third parts of the sale.
