Lugt 13344. Date on title-page corrected in ink from Monday to Wednesday June 19, but the 'Index To The Days Of The Sale' on the verso has not been corrected. The records of the Royal Society do not confirm that 'Henry Smedley, F.R.S.' was ever a fellow of the Society or in correspondence with it. Wheatley's announcement of the sale at the end of his A catalogue of a valuable collection of books, including part of the library of a nobleman, and the library of a gentleman, (deceased) removed from Upper Brook Street, ... 13th March 1833 (q.v.), refers to this sale as being forthcoming ... 'the Property of the late Henry Smedley, Esq. of the Sanctuary, Westminster.'
