Preface by 'Jérôme Bocalosi', i.e. Girolamo Bocalosi. On the marchand-amateur Tacoli Canacci, see Alessandra Talignani, 'La collezione dei dipinti toscani del Marchese Alfonso Tacoli Canacci', in Parma nell'Arte [1986]: 31-42. After Tacoli Canacci's death in 1801, his collection was inherited by his nephew, Pietro Tacoli, and dispersed. A supplement was published in 1798 (q.v.).

Copy Notes Bound (1) as issued with Supplément, 1798 (q.v.). Front free-endpaper inscribed in pencil with bookseller's cypher xbx and with the price (rubbed out) £- 3:6.

Binding Late C18th Italian brown sprinkled paper, printed paper spine-label reading 'Catal./ Des/ Pein-/ Tures/ Du Marq./ Tacoli'.
