Home's Lectures were initially published 'in two volumes' printed by W. Bulmer and Co. for G. and W. Nichol in 1814. The present volumes III and IV were added in 1823 and volumes V and VI containing a Supplement in 1828. Volume III includes 'Synopsis Systematis Regni Animalis'. Volumes II, IV and VI are made up entirely of plates and explanatory letterpress. The engravings in vol. IV are 'taken from drawings by Mr. Bauer and Mr. Clift'. Sir Everard Home was Vice President of the Royal Society and Surgeon to the Chelsea Hospital.
