Folded half-sheet, final verso blank. Drop-head title. Prospectus for a scheme for raising donations towards the restoration of the monument and Shakespeare family tombs in Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon, inspired by Abraham Wivell's critical account of the state of the bust and tombs published in 1825. The Committee, under the chairmanship of Dr. John Connolly and Hon. Secretary William O. Hunt gave way eventually to a Society for the Renovation and Restoration of Shakespeare's Monument and Bust, and of the Chancel, to which the antiquary John Britton (who had bought Soane's copy of the First Folio on his behalf at James Boswell the younger's sale in 1825, q.v.) was appointed Hon. Secretary.
