Drop-head title. According to the plan of the work on p. 3, the History of England was intended to be complete in 19 volumes, but in the event ran to 21 volumes published 1834--36 (q.v.). The other editions advertised are the re-issue of Valpy's Shakspeare (first published 1832--34, q.v.) and of Valpy's Family Classical Library.

Copy Notes Bound as issued at the front of volume I of the History of England (q.v.).

Binding Original publisher's C19th cased maroon moiré binder's cloth, spine-title 'History Of England With Illustrations ...' stamped in gilt within decorative cartouche.
