Originally published in 1669 without a second part; part 2 was originally published in 1671. Additional engraved title-plate reads: 'The Present State Of England', showing the King (Charles II) in state flanked by Archbishop Sancroft and Lord Nottingham (Lord Chancellor). Another issue of the present edition has a cancel title-page dated '1684', printed for R. Bently by J. Playford. The final leaf of part 2 lists 'The Band of Gentlemen Pensioners. Mistaken in pag. 210 of the first part.'. ESTC r8711 (part 1), ESTC r5171 (part 2).

Copy Notes Top corner of title page and dedication torn off (as if to remove former inscriptions).
